🌱📚 More Exciting Earth Day Shenanigans! 🌎 Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the launch of the Green Library Tours at Chamblee Library. It was inspiring to see the incredible work of the Fruitful Community Foundation and the Jane Goodall Institute’s Roots & Shoots organization coming to libraries near you! 🌿 Green Box Homes shared valuable knowledge on proper planting techniques, and we had around 40 participants of all ages join us for a tour of their climate-resilient landscape (funded by Commissioner Ted Terry). 🌳 We enjoyed reading two lovely stories outdoors, in both English and Spanish, and planted pineapple guava trees and native plants together. 🍍🌼 Attendees also signed up to learn how to implement their own community projects, and everyone went home with vegetable plants to nurture. 🌱 Check out the next Green Library Tour at Clarkston Library on Saturday, May 11th, from 1:00-3:00pm. Please RSVP at www.fruitfulcommunity.org/fruitful-events. Let's continue to grow together for a greener, more sustainable community! 🌍 #GreenLibraryTours #bettertogetherdekalb #commissionermichellelongspears #greenhive #EarthDayEveryDay #chambleelibrary #dekalbcountyga #DeKalbCountyD2 #CommunityEngagement 📚 See MoreSee Less

Commissioner Ted Terry’s Environmental Justice DeKalb: Healing our People and Planet was very informative and inspiring. The workshops and discussions were facilitated with great care and knowledge and DeKalb was given great tools to implement. I appreciated the opportunity to say a few words and join in on the educational fun. Oh – and dare I say that was one amazing spread full of yummy goodness. Someone please give me the name of the caterer! Commissioner Ted Terry Roots & Shoots USA Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area Porter Sanford Theater See MoreSee Less
